Bernard Hinault, born on 14 November 1954 in Yffiniac (Côtes-d'Armor), is a professional cyclist from 1975 to 1986.
He is the third rider to win the Tour de France five times, after Jacques Anquetil and Eddy Merckx.
In eight participations, he won twenty-eight stages. He also has a world road champion title, three victories in the Tour of Italy and two in the Tour of Spain. Nicknamed the Badger, he dominated the cycling sport between 1978 and 1986, winning 216 victories.
