A collector's zamak figurine faithfully reproducing the Fagor Mercier Hutchinson team jersey from the 1971 season. Cast in zinc alloy — prized by collectors for its durability and sharpness of detail — every stitch of the original jersey is brought to life. Hand-painted in small batches in our French workshop, each piece is a testament to genuine artisan craftsmanship.
The 1971 Season
The 1971 Tour de France stands as one of the most dramatic in the race's history. Luis Ocaña was riding the race of his life, crushing the peloton and opening up a commanding lead over Eddy Merckx, when a violent crash on the descent of the Col de Menté forced him to abandon in heartbreaking circumstances. Merckx went on to claim his third consecutive Tour victory. Within that peloton of champions, Fagor Mercier Hutchinson was one of the great standard-bearers of French cycling, led by Raymond Poulidor — the beloved domestique-turned-legend who wore the Mercier jersey for nearly two decades.
