This zamak figurine captures the jersey of Del Tongo, one of the most celebrated Italian teams in the professional peloton of the 1980s. Handcrafted in France in small batches and painted by hand in our Roubaix workshop, it's made for collectors looking to rebuild the peloton from that golden era of Italian cycling.
Active from 1982 to 1991, Del Tongo left a lasting mark on cycling history. Their greatest achievement remains the 1983 Giro d'Italia victory, claimed by Giuseppe Saronni — the reigning world champion at the time. The team made just one Tour de France appearance, in 1987, but their roster featured riders who would go on to define the sport for decades: Mario Cipollini, Maurizio Fondriest, Franco Ballerini, and Rolf Gölz. When the team disbanded in 1992, it laid the groundwork for what would eventually become Lampre.
Each figurine is cast in zamak, a zinc alloy with a refined finish, and hand-painted following the French artisan tradition. A collector's piece that faithfully captures the identity of a team and a season.
