Cast and hand-painted in the Roubaix workshop, this zamak cycling figurine captures the La Casera-Bahamontes squad as they lined up in the professional peloton during the 1973 season. Each piece is cast in zamak — a zinc alloy prized for its durability and crisp detail — then hand-painted in small batches.
The 1973 season sits at the heart of a golden age for Spanish cycling. The team proudly carried the name of the legendary Federico Martín Bahamontes — the 'Eagle of Toledo', winner of the 1959 Tour de France — a towering figure for a whole generation of Iberian climbers. That year the peloton witnessed one of cycling's most compelling Tours: with Eddy Merckx absent, Luis Ocaña claimed the yellow jersey in commanding style, throwing the race wide open and signalling a shift in the balance of power across the peloton.
