The Sonolor Lejeune figurine joins your collection with the artisan craftsmanship that defines every piece to come out of Le Petit Cycliste's workshop in Roubaix. Cast in zamak, a durable zinc alloy, and hand-painted in small batches, it faithfully reproduces the jersey of this French team that made its mark on the professional peloton between 1969 and 1974.
Led by Jean Stablinski, the Sonolor Lejeune squad brought together talented riders from across Europe. At the sharp end of the peloton rode Belgian climber Lucien Van Impe, whose exploits on mountain stages defined the team's ambitions in the high mountains. Alongside him, riders like Mariano Martinez, Willy Teirlinck and Raymond Martin helped build the team's palmares.
Among their finest results: a 3rd place at the World Championship, the Grand Prix de Plouay, the Grand Prix de Denain, the Grand Prix de Fourmies, and the Herald Sun Tour. At the close of 1974, the Sonolor chapter came to an end, with the roster folding into the Gitane-Frigécrème team — a defining piece of French cycling history that deserves a pride of place in your display cabinet.
Made in France, hand-painted, limited edition. A collector's piece for those who keep the memory of the peloton alive.
