This zamak figurine captures Stephen Roche as he rode to glory at the 1987 Giro d'Italia: wearing the Carrera Jeans-Vagabond jersey, at the heart of a season forever etched in cycling history. Each piece is cast in high-quality zinc alloy, then hand-painted in our Roubaix workshop in small, limited runs.

The 1987 season — an extraordinary feat
The 1987 Giro d'Italia is one of the most dramatic races the sport has ever seen. Riding for Carrera alongside defending champion Roberto Visentini, Roche made a bold and controversial move on the roads of Friuli: he attacked his own team leader on the Sappada stage and snatched the maglia rosa from him. The Irishman faced the fury of the tifosi, held his nerve, and triumphed in Rome. Weeks later, he won the Tour de France, then the World Championship in Villach — becoming only the second rider in history, after Eddy Merckx, to complete the Giro-Tour-Worlds triple crown in a single season.
